Sara Burt, from an early age, began to grow in her love for Christ and the joy of worshiping Him through music. In seeking to be faithful to Christ’s calling on her life, she studied music at East Texas Baptist University and received an All-Level Music Education degree (vocal emphasis) as well as completed graduate hours at Stephen F. Austin in choral music. She recently graduated (December 2015) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master in Theological Studies.
One of her greatest joys is leading music with which people can worship the Lord. Over the years, Sara has worn many hats. Her most treasured roles include growing in her role as a pastor’s wife, serving in her church, and teaching at Central Texas Christian School. Sara also enjoys writing for Lifeway’s Devotional Magazine for Women, Journey. Covenant community in her local church where her husband serves as Pastor is a joy and a privilege. She and Jared have been married for 17 years and they have four beautiful children: Abigail Faith, Elizabeth Noelle, Levi Graham, and Jacob Craig.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Sara is an educator. Her teaching positions have included assistant middle school choral director in the Gilmer Independent School District, middle school choral director in the Henderson Independent School District, Latin and English teacher at PACES PAideia (a classical school for the liberal arts), as well as private instruction for voice and piano. Sara regularly presents lectures and mini-seminars concerning leadership, ministry, curriculum reviews, and music history. Her most recent work is a published study guide to correlate with “Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery” by Eric Metaxas for high school students. This guide was published through PACES Publishing and available here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/261642331/amazing-grace-study-guide-with-answer?ref=shop_home_active_6.
